Running in Tokyo/Japan - Marathon/Clubs/Track Races

東京でのマラソン・陸上・駅伝・・・・・体を鍛えて、環境を守ってエコマラソン

Tell me about your favorite races! Salazar versus Beardsley, the famous "Duel in the Sun"?
Or? Well, whatever, tell me! Here is mine!
Helsinki 1952, Emil Zatopek, the Czech Steam Engine, rolls over the unforgettable hero of La Grande Nation, Alain Mimoun, also starring Sir Christopher John Chataway and German runner Schad. A great moment in the history of running, and the beginning of a great friendship.

Great knee lift! He's probably the smoothest looking runner I've ever seen. At his peak he would put the fear of God into other Australian distance men if he was with them at the bell.
The Australian 5k champs one year (can't remember the year ; 1993 ish) was a classic; the field that year was stacked. Monaghetti, De Castella, Julian Paynter, Jamie Harrison to name but a few tried every single trick in the book against him, but he certainly had the measure on them that day.
Reply by Owain, just corrected the place!
