Tokyo Marathon on TV

As I have decided to watch the race on TV, I may as well write about how the top-runners are doing. In the early stages, a group of eight runners with Haile Gebresselassi and Japanese runner Masakazu Fujiwara followed the 2:58/k pacemakers, which actually slowed down to 3:02 soon. They reached 10k in 29:54, about the same…

Shibuya Ekiden 2012

Today a group of runners ran the annual Shibuya Ekiden in Yoyogi Park. I ran on the Namban Rengo Masters team, having moved up from a position as a substitute, and not feeling very comfortable about it. However, thanks to my teammate's efforts, we finished in 2nd, beaten only by the Shibuya triathletes, and ahead of our…

Hi Juergen,

Thanks for the message! I started running very recently (from last November) and I'm also very lazy. But I enjoy running and want to attend several races this year.

I hope to make some friends thru this community :)

Hello Juergen,

Many thanks for your comment. I have just started running with good running friends. I am still a jogger or even walker, actually. I have many good runner friends who want to have opportunity to communicate with foreigners. I speak English so I would like to do a mid person with foreign runners and my friends, if possible.

Hope my joining this web site makes some people happier!

Hello Juergen,

Thanks for your reply. I was not sure really how to send you guys a message, so I registered to your group even though I don't leave in Tokyo....I would actually like to inform the running community in Japan, specially the trail running one, in order to inform them about the race we are organizing in Hong Kong on March 24th. It will be a 50km mountain trail running and also a 15km on the same day, more info=> www.lantau50.com

Thanks again to help us sharing the info within your community.
Best regards,

Hi Juergen!

Thank you for the warm welcome message :) .  Im still learning to navigate this beautiful country and website, but I look forward to the journey of meeting you and other runners along the way.   Can you direct me to the location on WIRED<>FIT I can find running, runners and upcoming events in Tokyo area?  I plan to meet with the Striders this weekend and am very excited about that.  Thanks for putting this together.

Thanks Juergen,

Looks like I might have seen you at the Takao trail run on 12/18.  I was searching for the race results when I found this site.  Please let me know about the races you organize.  When is the next one?  I am going to start training for my first marathon-  I tried to get into the Tokyo marathon but didn't get in so I entered the Nagano Marathon in April.  I live closer to Saitama than downtown but maybe if I am going into town for something anyways I can try to hook up with one of the group runs.

Thanks again!

Hydi
