This was a very interesting story about Leonel Manzano and the Fifth Avenue Mile. I'm always happy to see an article about running!

Great little runner! Perfect build for weaving out of tight packs. American distance running is experiencing a resurgence, and there is a real world class corps of runners emerging over there. Solinsky, Rupp, Lagat, Wheating,Tegenkemp to name just a few. Whatsmore Alan Webb looks to be well on his way back to form, and now Manzano. This guy ran 3:32 during the summer and reminds me of that great little Portugese miler, Rui Silva who incidentally was a medalist in Athens.

The race starts on Manhattan’s famed Fifth Avenue near East 80th Street, in the heart of “Museum Mile.” From there it heads one mile south on Fifth Avenue to the finish at East 60th Street.
The map is here: Map of 5th Avenue Mile

Very good article. Where is the race on 5th avenue? It's not flat, especially going downtown. Along Central Park?
