Running in Tokyo/Japan - Marathon/Clubs/Track Races

Today the Seoul Flyers ran the Yonsan Base 10k in Seoul. I will probably never enter a US Base in Japan again, but the small races here are fun.

The Seoul Flyers had five runners, but organizer Jae Kim dropped out - not without taking pictures of the other members! Thanks!

Emily, our only lady, finished her first 10k in a sub 50min, great job!

I had high expectations in our two young Minnesoutans, Mark and Chris, and they went off like rockets from the start. Chris has a 10k pb in the low 33's, and Mark is even faster. They finished first and third, with Mark collecting 13$ for first, in a time of 33:30. Chris ran 34:50, very respectable on a hilly course.

Yours truly, also, was perfectly happy. My plan had been to stay within 4min of Chris, and I got much closer, 37:32, only four seconds slower than last years best, but in a much more difficult race.

Jae dropped out of the race, but after the finish, he put in another great effort for the club! He recruited the guy who finished second!!

More glory is soon to come!
