The Road To Redemption: Part 8; The Race

Greetings fellow runners.

Appologies or not having blogged about  my assault on The Daegu Marathon. Alas I have nothing special to write about.

Sure I finished but unfortunately I didn't achieve the time that I felt capable of. I just didn't click. But that's the unknown about marathons, you don't really know what you'll run on the day, regardless of how your training has gone.

Having said that, I was satisfied to have finished considering that I have had 3 years of injuries. I think all I need is 12 good months of training and I'm sure you'll be hearing from a different beast in my next marathon.

I have now had 5 weeks recovery-2 eeks of no runing followed by 3 easy weeks. Now it's just a matter of racing 5ks, 10ks and half marathons for speed before I plan my next marathon campaign which could well be Beppu next year.

So did I redeem myself? From a finishing perspective; yes. But from achieving a paticular time-better luck next time.

Anyway thank you for following my campaign and good  luck in all your races. I look forward to reading al about your prs.

Owain

Note: Congratulations to the members of the Kanto Racing Team who took part and won all the major awards.
