Saturday saw the staging of the annual North of England Road Relay Championships.
Over recent years my home club Derby have been getting stronger and after the disappointment of last year with one of our best athletes limping round injured...we were really up for trying to break into the medals this time around.
It was a fantastic and emotional day and we ended up taking home the title by 15 seconds, I was lucky enough to take the final spot on the team and ran 5th leg, dropping from 1st to 2nd only at the very end of my leg!! After recent years of injury this was a special day for me, a year and a half ago I was close to giving up but days like this make all the hard work and pain worth while!!!
