Running in Tokyo/Japan - Marathon/Clubs/Track Races

東京でのマラソン・陸上・駅伝・・・・・体を鍛えて、環境を守ってエコマラソン

It was a hot day in Hesse State, with up to 32 degrees, and thunderstorms. As most of my friends know, I hate getting up early and run badly if races start to early, but in this heat, an 8:50am start is unavoidable.
I ran a steady sub4min pace, following a guy I thought to be in my age-group. I passed him when we entered the stadium, ran a 3:43 last k. Turned out he was 60! Well, by passing him I ended up the fastest guy over 45 in a race more high-level than the ones around my hometown. Finished in 39:03, 40sec. faster than the second place, a runner from renowned ASC Darmstadt!

Nice run Juergen. Sub 40 in hot conditions is great. But watch out for those older runners!
I am going back to Oz on Thursday for the end of the CC season and then back to Tokyo September 16th. Hopefully the weather in Japan will be a little kinder to me when I return.
