We talked about "German work-outs" - if there is such a thing, they should be based on Toni Nett's research in the 50s and 60s. Building on that, the great Frank Horwill (see links below), my favorite coach and founder of the British Miler's Club, has developed his coaching system for Sebastian Coe, Steve Ovett and Tim Hutchins.
So, here is one that is normally for 800m-runners, but should help in any sprint finish. I have adjusted the times for you, let me know if it works:
4x200 in 30sec with 30sec break
4 min rest
2x300 in 45sec with 45 sec break, 1x200 in 30 sec
4 min rest
2x400 in 60sec
Kassa, kassa! Juergen
Hi Thomas,
Congratulations on your fine run on Sunday.
Hi Thomas,
Welcome to the website. You must be the gentleman who won a 10k in Hong Kong a few days ago. Am I correct? Well if so congratulations.
I also guess that you were born in Kenya, which is interesting as your favorite runner is an Eritrean rather than somene like Tergat or Ngugi.
Also are you related to Nixon Kiprotich, that great 800 metre runner from the 80s/90s?
