N0.4 Saiko Eco Marathon

for beginners and fun-runners！

～thinking about what runners can do for the environment～

In recent days, we are seeing increasing environmental awareness. As runners we may choose to use public transport to go to races while bringing our own mugs and bags.  We like this event to be an opportunity to think about the environment and ecology conscious way of living, which are important for both us and our future generations.

Unfortunately, some of the foods we consume everyday includes processed foods that contain excessive amounts of additives, which on the long term are not necessarily good for our health. Also, excessive wrapping&packaging, wasting our precious finite resources, has become an everyday scene. It is my wish that this event will serve as an opportunity to think about and start an environmentally conscious way of living. Organizer, Juergen　Wittstock

When:  22 April (Sun), 2012  Starting at 10:30AM

The race:            -10km (men, 600 entries)

-10km (women, 600 entries)

Time limit:   1.5hrs   Plenty of time for beginners!

Qualifications:    At least at high school age and in good health

Where:               Saiko-Doman Green Park (彩湖道満グリーンパーク),  (toda-greenpark.or.jp)　

Meeting point: Fureai-hiroba (ふれあい広場) near the Kanri-bashi bridge (管理橋).

Changing tents (small size) are provided for both m&w 

 A plastic-sheeted area for personal belongings is provided for your use under your own responsibility.

Please ensure that you are in good health on the day of the race.
