Event Description

Please join us for one of the popular events of the Namban Spring campaign - the Fuji Susono Half-Marathon / 10k / 5k / 3k on May 10th.

Registration opens on Jan. 22., and deadline for application is April 6th via Runnet or Sports Entry.

But, need I say this?, we should not blithely assume that we can wait until the last minute to register this year.

Fuji Susono is a roller coaster course through the villages nestled at the base of Mount Fuji. After a stadium start, the half-marathon course climbs 250 meters over 5k, followed by two rolling loop, then returns downhill back to the finish.

But as veterans of Fuji Susono know, the event is not just about the run. The real highlight is the Gotemba Resort, world-renowned for its pure Hot Springs and the onsite Micro-Brewery featuring Scottish bagpipes, its famous German sausages, and Bavarian-style beer brewed with spring water from deep beneath Mount Fuji

Oh boy, so late! I was out of town for Golden Week with no access to email or the internet. I work on Saturdays so was not able to come and meet anyone today. I am heading out first thing in the A.M.

Hi Barbara - Look forward to seeing you today around 4pm or so at registration for Blueberry Lodge. There is definitely space for you on the bus. The bus seats 44 and there are about 29 Nambanners and 5-10 people from another running group, so there should be a few seats.

We would love to jump on the bus as well. I know that there are several other people going from ASIJ who might wish to do that as well if you have space. I hope we can at least buy you a pint of the local micro-brew to say thank you for all of your organizing! :) See you tomorrow!

Yikes! I'm so sorry that I didn't get back until now! Blueberry Lodge is great. Whatever is best for everyone is good for us.

Hi Barbara - Actually we can cancel until 9pm tonight (Friday) and it would be more cost effective for everyone if you stay in Blueberry Lodge. Please let me know your thoughts if you receive this message.

Hi Barbara - I assume you will stay in hotel. I think we will soon face cancellation penalty if we cancel this room.

Thanks Barbara - Let me know if you need more information.

BTW - Our shuttle bus from hotel to race will leave 8am on Sunday morning and return at 1pm. You are welcome to join rest of team on shuttle if you would rather not deal with driving to race site and parking.

Thanks, Jay. I'll check with the hubby when he gets home this evening to see what he would like to do and then I'll get back to you. Thanks again,
Barbara

Hi Barbara - We now have room for you and your husband in the Blueberry Lodges where most of rest of our group is staying. You would be in lodge with 4 other lady runners and your husband would be in men's lodge. It would cost 4,000 yen per person rather than the 10,000 yen per person hotel. Let me know if you want to switch.

Hi Barbara - I will try to provide your name to hotel - but it may be better to meet us in front of the Blueberry Lodges at 1600 - http://www.gotembakogenresort.jp/pdf/accessmap_01.pdf The Blueberry Lodges are #3 on this map and the check in is the admin building to the left of #3 and #4 with the nearest entrance being the North Gate.
Did you want to join the group for dinner at 1900 (3,150 yen per person for buffet at Mugibatake?
