On Sunday, I ran the Shinjuku Half marathon. This is my fifth time to do the race and I thought I new the course well, but this year they changed the course a little bit and I couldn't find ANY kilometer signs during the 21 km. Weird. Wasn't there one in every 5 kilometers? It may be because the event organizer was transferred from the Tokyo Metropolitan government to Shinjuku Ward this year. But, this actually worked better for me. Not knowing exactly how fast I was going, I ran in a pace I felt comfortable with. As a result, I set my PB, 1 hour and 41, improving my time by 6 minutes from a year ago.
The course had a bit of ups and downs, just the way I like it! The weather turned out to be good, as well.
