well, mileage is not all. Usami-sensei says that the fact that he lasted for three Olympics (in the marathon) is thanks to him running only about 100k's per week. I ran too much garbage-miles in my twenties, I would never do that again. More than two long runs (20+) only for people whose main target is the full marathon. 80k's per week, with 15-20 of them at race-pace, and some threshold running, will benefit more, and save the legs for a longer running-career (so much for the long-term perspective).

as a rule of thumb? ;-)
thanks anyways!
sounds like a short-term measure, maybe i'm mistaking?
i feel that i am still building up my running abilities and that a long-term perspective might be appropriate...

Down with the mileage, up with the speed!

yeah, what a pity that i couldn't do 17:30...
i'll try to improve my 5k time this year, too. on a flat course 3:20 pace should be doable soon, i hope ;-) maybe you have a good hint for me?
