Thank you for your help. For me running is synonymous with running for a marathon.Do I have a very parochial view?I have run 2 marathons and always like running long distances.
Hey Owain, right on the Mark Jolin part but far from famous. Dr Kim is a great guy and I can't say enough wonderful things about him. Getting together for a run sounds great anytime. Take care
My legs seem to be recovering fast. I plan to take about a week off and then slowly get back into it. I can't wait to have another crack at the 200k next year. It won't get the best of me again.
Hey! I'm based in Japan (Mie) but likely to return to Oz in the summer time - though not in time for the GC marathon :( Am gonna be back in Oz for City 2 Surf and Sydney Marathon though!
I found two races in Hokkaido that could be nice - Toya-ko in May and Chiitose in June. Also looking at other runs in Asia :)
thanks for your message! The photo was before Tokyo marathon last year. We were freezing our arses off waiting for the race to start and trying to get our last fuel before the race started.
Hope you have a fun year of racing! Any recommendations for full marathons in May or June? anywhere will do!?
Yes, thanks that was a PB so I'm very happy with it. Going to run easy for 2-3 weeks and then I have a trail 1/2 marathon in the HK Hinterlands. Did this race last year(first ever trail race) and enjoyed it a lot. You are doing Jega?
Hi Owain, yep, this was my best time. This was my second marathon, I also did the Tokyo marathon back in 2007. Then I did it in 6 hours 16 minutes. This time was 5 hours 26 minutes, which is a big improvement. Hopefully the next time I do a marathon I can get it down to 5 hours.

I think the coldest I have ever been was Korea actually. Did a 2-day layover there flying between NZ and Japan in January a few years back. Was not brave enough to run!
Hey mate, why did your profile pic revert to default?

Thanks Owain! I have read Daniels before. I followed a Pfitz plan last marathon and Higdon before that. This time I have been using a coach for long runs and vo2/LT work and filling in the rest of the week with mid-long runs and some GA running. It is a pity I was so busy when I was up in Japan (and the weather at night was bit harsh for me) that I could not run with any Nambanners but I certainly enjoyed running up there a lot! Seems so much easier than HK. How did it compare for you with korea?

Thank you Owain - Guiness Book of Records is an awesome idea! I'll look into it!
Thanks! we're so excited to receive our first comment from the other side of the globe. We hope to see you running with us, Hadar.

I am quite new to intervals and using a local coach's advice. He had me doing the 800s @2.50 with the recoveries for 2 min. Tempo was at 4.20 per/km. It is tough doing the tempo after the Vo2 stuff. It is also difficult doing it by yourself with other runners in my group going at faster or slower paces. Do you do intervals on your own or with training partners? I am in Tokyo early next month so will hopefully be able to do the Wed session with the guys on here.
