I haven't signed up for a 10k yet. I may be joining a 1/2 marathon in January with 4 friends from my son's youchien. I have ran a few times with a friend of mine but scheduling between our husbands schedules and 3 kids (between the two families) is very difficult. After 6:30 A.M. we are very busy...Thanks for the advice :)

<p>What you're doing already is a good plan of action for the 10K distance. Prepping for a half is similar, though you start bumping up mileage for the obvious reasons, of course. Getting into the habit of running 3-4x's/week, I think, is crucial. Since you have that part down, it's only a matter of making tweaks to that in order to get ready for 13.1 miles.</p>
