DESCRIPTION:RacingThePlanet is a unique category of rough country foot
 races that take place over seven days and some 250 kilometers in remot
 e and culturally rich locations around the world. Competitors must car
 ry all their own equipment and food, are only provided with water and 
 a place in a tent each day but are supported by professional medical a
 nd operations teams. RacingThePlanet is international; the events typi
 cally involve competitors from over 20 different countries who are abl
 e to mingle around the campfires and in their geographically mixed ten
 ts. Currently the events consist of the 4 Deserts, a series which enco
 mpasses the Gobi Desert in China, the Atacama Desert of Chile, the Sah
 ara Desert in Egypt and Antarctica, and a fifth event which roves to a
  new location each year.\n\nIn 2010, RacingThePlanet launched a new se
 ries of equally challenging, inspiring and remote 100km single stage f
 ootraces: RacingThePlanet 100. The inaugural event took place in the b
 rutal Taklamakan Desert in China's Xinjiang province – known by loca
 ls as the Sea of Death. In 2011, RacingThePlanet will return to Austra
