 lebrate its 20-year anniversary. With three races planned, the Gobi Ma
 rch in Mongolia, the Atacama Crossing in Chile, and RacingThePlanet: T
 he 20-Year Race will each feature special activities and celebrations 
 as we bring together past alumni and welcome new members to the Racing
 ThePlanet Family. Jordan has been specially selected as a location wit
 h iconic desert scenery and culture, and we feel that there is no bett
 er way to celebrate 20 years than with a finish at the ancient village
  of Petra. With over 100,000 archeological sites, only 15 percent of J
 ordan has yet to be explored. Competitors will see Petra, Wadi Rum, Th
 e Treasury, and other historical sites as they traverse 250 kilometers
  (155 miles) across this most spectacular desert landscape. As an impo
 rtant bridge between Europe, Asia and Africa, Jordan was specially cho
 sen for this special celebration which will bring together 50 national
