DESCRIPTION:The 3rd Hakusan Geotrail 2016 will take place in Hakusan c
 ity, Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan.\nThe Hakusan Geotrail is 6 stages r
 ace of 7 days. The race is from August 21 to 27 in 2016. The competito
 r check in August 20. The awards banquet is August 27.\nAlong the 250 
 kilometers / 155 miles and 15,000 meters of positive height gain of th
 e Hakusan Geotrail course, the terrain will include grasslands, farmla
 nds, dirt tracks, riverbeds, rolling hills, mountain valleys, plains a
 nd plateaus.\nCompetitors will pass through local villages and grazing
  lands where shepherds tend to their flocks.\nThe course has a number 
 of highlights, including the Hakusan National Park area (where the fam
 ous sacred mountain of Japan), Mt.Hakusan (2,702 m height) Hakusan-Ted
 origawa geopark, Syugendou; Japanese mountain asceticism-shamanism inc
 orporating Shinto and Buddhist concepts. Located in the foothills of H
 akusan mountain.\n\nAthletes are provided with water and a place to st
 ay in a tent each day and are also supported by professional medical a
