DESCRIPTION:Gobi March (China) 2017 is a 7-day, 250-kilometer / 155-mi
 le self-supported footrace. It takes place in Hami region in the easte
 rn part of Xinjiang Province in China in the area of the Ancient Silk 
 Road. The 250 kilometer / 155 mile course is the most diversified cour
 se of the 4 Deserts Race Series combining a cooler weather mountain tr
 ail race and a hot desert race. It follows the Tian Shan Mountains, on
 e of the largest mountain ranges in Asia, and crosses the mountain ran
 ge on Stage 2. It takes competitors through Alpine scenery, pastures a
 nd yurt villages, river beds, sand dunes, rough Gobi terrain and the s
 andy Black Gobi Desert famous for its huge stunning sandstone formatio
 ns. Competitors will also get to experience the colourful culture of t
 he Uyghur, Kazak and Hui ethnic groups who live along the course. More
