DESCRIPTION:The course of the Gobi March takes competitors across 250 
 kilometers (approximately 155 miles) of varied terrain at the edge of 
 the Gobi Desert.  The Gobi March course is located in the Bortala Mon
 gol and Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefectures in Xinjiang Province, China
 . Unlike our other hot desert courses, this beautiful desert takes com
 petitors across green grasslands and alpine-like scenery. Rather than 
 sandy terrain, competitors will traverse dirt tracks, dry riverbeds, v
 alleys, plains and farmlands in areas alive with local culture. \nThe
  4 Deserts is the world's leading rough-country endurance footrace ser
 ies. A unique collection of world-class events that take place over 7 
 days and 250 kilometers in the largest and most forbidding deserts on 
 the planet.\nCompetitors are challenged to go beyond the limits of the
 ir physical and mental endurance. Racing self-supported in the most in
 hospitable climates and formidable landscapes, they must carry all the
 ir own equipment and food and are only provided with drinking water an
